Workshops

 

In cooperation with the Technische Universität Berlin (TU Berlin), the Urban Management Studies Program from Faculty VI Planning | Building | Environment and the Asian Institute of Technology Center (AITCV) in Hanoi, Vietnam, Stadt. International Urban Consulting offered four 3-day workshops entitled:

“Sustainable Environmental and Urban Management in Berlin and Germany”

The courses took place from October 2011 until February 2012. The workshop structure consisted of roughly 50% classroom-based interactive learning and 50% field-based experiential learning. All of them lasted 3 days and the exact dates can be seen below:

10/10-12/10/2011: Workshop I
23/11-26/11/2011: Workshop II
20/11-23/11/2011: Workshop III
05/02-07/02/2012: Workshop IV

Participants who successfully complete the training course gain knowledge and new tools to enhance their capacity to deal with the complex interrelationships of urban issues; they can also acquire enhanced capacity in managing urban challenges at the local level and in the future they will be able to apply a broader more international perspective to the process of decision making in their field. The key purpose of the workshop series was to enable the participants, which were all mayors and officials from the Ministry of Local Government, Rural Development and Cooperatives of Bangladesh, to deal with urban responsibility in terms of contributing to achieve sustainable development and pro-environmental management in their home country.
